Gah I really should stay on top of this and post more promptly.

+ So I made my stage debut as Tahlullah Manhattan at the Secrets show on 4th March. It was an absolute blast! I was Head Stage Maid too so I was a part of the action all night. I got my maid's dress that Sian made me off her. It's gorgeous! Black with red polka dot and made to every inch of my body. I love it!

The 'dressing room' was absolutely freezing which didn't help my nerves too much. I was shivering like crazy. I talked to Warren Peace and Duke O'Growl for a bit before we all kicked off the show. They are lovely guys. Warren loved my name and Duke gave me his coat to snuggle under until it was time for me to take to the stage. When the show started my nerves went away because Duke and Warren were making me laugh and woop so much when they went on stage. Duke was dressed like that guy from 'An Officer and a Gentleman' and had to carry Warren on stage, who is insanely tall to start with and has 5 inch heels on. I just loved watching them from my crack in the dressing room door. Then something else happened that helped ease my nerves: Amber was right in front of the door, saw me and waved. Having a familiar face being one of the first things I saw when I came out helped me so much more than I ever thought possible. I loved performing. It was fun and felt wonderful. + For past couple of weeks I've just been chilling out, relaxing after this busy period. Now I'm starting to go stir crazy. The only sewing I have left to do is the lining on my Poison Ivy shirt and it's a tedious task at best. Today I've felt utterly restless. So I've decided that I need to get my arse in gear. I'm so fucking lazy and I'm never gonna get anywhere if I carry on. I'm gonna push myself to write a lot, to put more effort into uni and generally be more productive. I've wasted so much time these past 2 years. I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and make something happen!

+ I'm gutted to be missing MCM Birmingham Expo at the end of March due to being skint. They have 4 Walking Dead guests! I'm so gutted. Plus it would have been nice to see everyone. The main con season is going to be so packed and brief this year. I think that's another thing that is getting me down. Having everything I'm looking forward to being so far away.

+ I'm STILL looking for a job. I'm down to the last scraps of my loan again and it's ridiculous. I'm sick of living like this. I want a job. I want to be earning. I want my fucking £50 a month bus pass to be more worthwhile! I've been pushing CVs around whenever something pops up in Frenchgate but it's still a long shot as no one wants to employ a girl who's only experience is in a charity shop. I hate it. I feel like I'm never going to get anywhere. What if I leave uni without any work experience? What the fuck do I do then?

+ My main fandom love right now is Walking Dead and Boondock Saints, and to another degree Norman Reedus. Walking Dead has been fucking stellar and I finally watched the first Boondock Saints the other week. I saw the second one a couple of months ago when I bought it on DVD and loved it. I just wish I had seen it when Sean Partick Flanery came over here for EMS! Now I need him to come back to sign that and Devil's Carnival.

+ Speaking of The Devil's Carnival! The trailer was unveiled on Saturday and I AM IN LOVE! I am so excited for this and I hope with all my might that Darren Lynn Bousman and co make it over to the UK for the tour.

So I went to Memorabilia London about a week and a bit ago with Rob and David. I had a great time. The morning was panic-free thank fuck. There was no queue to get into Mem AT ALL. I was so happy especially since we were running late when we arrived. Most people were in the queue for Expo aka the queuing Olympics. We soon found the queue for Freema and the Torchwood crew. It was the huge line with all our friends in XD.

Freema is one of the sweetest and humblest people I have ever met. I told her that it was great to see her at one of these events and she gushed thanks and went on to say how worried she was about people turning up. She thought that Doctor Who was all about Matt and Karen now and that no one would bother with her! Bless. Later in her talk she mentioned it again and went on to say that she now understands that once you're a part of Who you receive this eternal love for ever. She remembered me in my photoshoot too and called me gorgeous! I was dumbstruck.



After meeting Freema we moved along, past Eve Myles and Kai Owen who were chatting to fans and being as lovely and brilliant as ever, to see Alexa Havins. In front of us were 2 girls I know off Twitter who had made a birthday book for Alexa and were giving it to her. Her reaction was so cute! She said that she can't wait to go through it properly with her husband when she gets home. Then it was our turn. Alexa is so cute and doddy in real life! You just want to put her in your pocket! She thanked us for our support of Torchwood: Miracle Day and was glad that we enjoyed it.

Next was Arlene Tur! Dear lord that woman is sexy. Gorgeous face, sexy voice, legs that go on forever; she's a pure goddess! As I approached she went "Hey! Look at you with your red coat and your red lips! This inspired by Jilly?" I told her it was my Jilly cosplay and she loved it and said she would love Lauren to see this XD. I told her that she was my favourite new member of Torchwood and that I was gutted when she died. She smiled and went "That's Torchwood for you!". Yes it is Arlene. They always take my shiny new sexy doctor away :( First Rupesh, now Vera! BAH.


The Torchwood Panel at the end of the day was a thing of beauty. Kai, Eve, Arlene and Alexa all came on stage excited. Eve and Arlene danced a little bit. The panel itself was hilarious. It started with Kai saying that Eve smelt of cabbage and just got dafter from there. Oh and Eve has some theatre work coming up in 2012. Eve also made a grand speech about how grateful the show is to the fans and how important she thinks it is for them to come to events like this and meet them and hear what they like about the show. Eve's a superstar :) The panel ended in what I can only describe as a Hug Riot. There had been the odd hug questions for Eve through out the panel and it descended into utter joyful madness as the panel ended. Eve darted to the front of the stage to hug anyone who would come up. She was soon joined by Kai, Alexa and Arlene who also began to dish out hugs. It was epic and surprisingly not scary. Everyone behaved. There wasn't a threatening almighty surge. Just a nice crowd of fans lucky enough to have such a loving cast :)

My lord this weekend was bloody nonstop for me! Despite how knackering it was EMS was by far one of the best conventions I've ever been too :)

So a couple of days ago dearest finkpishnets made a post about how she had been thinking about Luke/Reid's storyline from US soap As The World Turns and how angry and sad she was about how it ended. I commented asking whether I should bother to watch it as I used to watch As The World Turns for Luke/Noah's storyline, but I stopped watching a little while after Noah's firework accident as it was just horrible to watch. Noah became a complete douche and it was just unfun to watch.

finkpishnets told me that I should in an epic comment of a sales pitch. I blitzed through the majority of it last night (in a desparate attempt to ignore current family issues, I'll explain later...maybe) and instantly fell in love. Here's why:
+ Dr Reid Oliver is the best and most snarkiest brain surgeon in the world
+ His people skills are crap and it's hilarious
+ The chemistry between Luke and Reid is amazing
+ it's just nice to see Luke smiling and happy after the utter douche that is Noah Mayer
+ They're both cute as hell
+ The way they snog is just UNF UNF UNF
+ Reid sews teddy bears when he's angsty BECAUSE HE'S BADASS
+ Reid being freaked out by the feelings of love is ADORABLE

I just loved them fighting, hating each other, getting together. I just loved them as a couple.

Then their getting together story-line ended and they got involved in a new story-line; Chris' bad heart due to a magical tropical bug. Uggggggh. What a dull story-line. Eventually it ended in Reid getting into a car/train collision (which btw is the worst stunt sequence I've ever seen on television) whilst he was on his way to another hospital to get Chris a new heart. He survived the accident and made it to hospital but the doctors (HIS FUCKING COLLEAGUES) just seemed to give up on him straight away. Brilliant. Reid then agrees to give his heart to Chris before he goes brain-dead. SUCH A WASTE OF A GOOD CHARACTER. Chris is one of the most worthless characters I've ever seen. Even his own father thinks he will amount to nothing more than a pediatrician Just ugh, no wonder As The World Turns was cancelled.

So I shall join finkpishnets and broadlicnic in denial of anything that happened after Reid said "I love you" to Luke. THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER OK.

Now can everyone shower me in fanfic and fanvids for these two please to heal my pain?

LFCC 2011 was the best convention I have ever been to! So recent fandom musings:

+ Alice - This is a two part mini-series that aired on SyFy a few weeks ago that has Andrew Lee-Potts as Hatter and the girl who plays Alice is kick-ass and amazing. I heard about this through fanvids popping up in my Youtube sub box. It's a lovely modern take with an Alice that is a black belt in karate and a wonderful Wonderland universe. The relationship between Alice/Hatter is lovely and Jack is dashing and reminds me alot of Scott Gill (Barrowman's partner). Tim Curry even pops up at one point.
